The press conference held on July 31 announced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan, Linxia's GDP rose from 35.27 billion yuan to 54.66 billion yuan, crossing two 10-billion-yuan thresholds. Linxia City and Yongjing County both hit the 10-billion-yuan GDP mark. The reconstruction work after the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in Jishishan was fully completed. Linxia has been named a National Model Prefecture for Ethnic Unity and Progress.

Standing at the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, how will Linxia unleash its development potential?

In the next five years, Linxia will speed up building its transport network, roll out new energy projects, and upgrade its power grids and digital infrastructure to improve its modern infrastructure system.

Linxia will expand its cattle and sheep industry chain, local delicacies such as Dongxiang hand grabbed Lamb will be promoted to wider markets, grow its bio-medical sector with products like artificial heart valves and heme, and boost specialty farming like roses and plateau vegetables.

Relying on its three world-class brands – the Global Geopark, Bingling Temple and Hua'er , Linxia will build two tourist routes around Taizi Mountain and Bingling Lake, building itself into a summer resort and wellness destination.

Keeping restoring the ecology of the upper Yellow River to protect its green mountains and clear waters. On people's livelihoods, strengthening support programs, skills training, public services, education, and healthcare, so more families benefit from development.

This September, Linxia will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding as an autonomous prefecture. Seven decades of progress — Linxia is now turning a new page. This city's next chapter is worth watching.
