In Lanzhou, there's a place called Shuangchengmen, which means"Double Gate". However, there' s no actual gate exists!

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, two arched gates were made in the city wall near Andingmen to help people escape invader's bombings. That' s how it got the name "Shuangchengmen." Although the old gate was torn down later, but the name is still used today.

Qingyang Road was formed when the city was built in the Ming Dynasty. It was once called Upper and Lower Dongguan, and later renamed Yimin Road and Heping Road. In 1958, Lanzhou began using county names for its streets, and that' s how Qingyang Road got its current name. It has witnessed bustling trade and endured the flames of war. Like a miniature of Lanzhou' s development, this road connects deep history with modern energy.

Leaving the noisy streets behind, Qingyang Road also has quiet spots for the soul — like Northwest Bookstore!

Today, it is more than a bookstore — also a cultural space for reading and creativity. Find a spot, sit down, open a book, and you can enjoy the joy of reading.

Further down Qingyang Road is the Lanzhou Municipal Museum. Step inside, and time seems to slow down. The museum's treasures are like a flowing scroll, telling the story of Lanzhou' s glorious past as a key city on the Silk Road.

Heading east from the museum, you' ll reach Dongfanghong Square.

Guofang Center on the east side carries the shopping memories of generations; the stadium on the west has seen the evolution of sports and culture in the city; the rising MixC Mall has become a new landmark. As a hub for business, entertainment, and transport, Dongfanghong Square keeps evolving, connecting Lanzhou's past and future.
